Feeding the Stroke Brain.
Now that we are in the August heat of summer, eating becomes a challenge for me and I imagine many others-stroke or not. I tend to eat lightly and less often than ‘normal’. Still in the recovery process, it is important for a stroke victim to eat well to feed the body and the recovering brain. I often forget this important vital step of the recovery, especially now in the heat. I wonder if that may have had an impact on my ‘scary and beautiful experience’ last week. This is a topic worth more exploration and an in depth dive into the Stroke victims diet, and I will be adding more information on this later. For now, I will continue to work on feeding the brain the necessary nutrition it needs to heal. Currently, daily at 8 am and pm I take my blood thinner and a variety of supplements. I really feel the supplements have aided my recovery. Additionally, I start my day with a whole fruit, protein, chia seed and other options as available shake. This is a blender full of nutrition and protein.
